1933: Los Angeles Rocked By Earthquake
On March 10, 1933 at 5:54 PM, Long Beach was hit by a 6.4 magnitude earthquake which killed between 115 and 120 people and caused an estimated 40 million dollars worth of damage. The following is footage from Pathe News, Inc., originally on 16mm film and digitized by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP).
